## A checklist for choosing a website call button

Twelve questions to ask before you pick a website call button: audio, routing, consent, data location, recording, reporting and cost.

A call button is easy to demo and hard to judge. These questions separate the ones that work for a regulated firm from the ones that do not.

### Calling

Does it work in current Chrome, Edge, Firefox and Safari on desktop and mobile without an app?
Does audio stay clear on a bad network, and does it work behind an office firewall?

### Routing and follow-up

Can different pages ring different teams? Can desks have their own hours?
What happens when nobody answers? Look for callbacks with a deadline, not a voicemail box.

### Compliance

Is consent shown before recording? Where is data stored? Is playback logged?
Ask for the answers in writing and have your compliance team read them.

### Reporting and cost

Does every call arrive with page, referrer and campaign? Can you export it?
Is pricing public, and in the currency you pay in?
