IVR menu or routing by page: which sends callers to the right desk?
Press 1 for sales, press 2 for support, or let the page decide. A comparison of IVR menus and page-based routing for financial websites.

An IVR menu asks the caller to describe their need with keypad digits. A website call can skip that, because the page already says what they were doing.
Where an IVR fits
Phone-number callers have no page, so a menu is the only context. If most of your calls come from the phone network, keep it.
Where page routing fits
On a website, the IPO page can ring the primary markets desk directly. One short intake adds anything the page cannot tell you, such as new or existing client.
Using both
Many firms keep the IVR for the printed number and use page routing for the website. The two do not conflict.
